1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading or using WhatNext ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and the Service Provider, Malachi Nelson. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the Application.
2. Intellectual Property
All source code, design elements, recommendation algorithms, taste profile logic, and trademarks associated with WhatNext are the exclusive property of the Service Provider. You may not:
- Attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, or extract the source code of the Application.
- Create derivative versions, translations, or copies of the Application or its design.
- Use our trademarks, branding, or name in any way that suggests official endorsement or affiliation.
3. Data Sovereignty
WhatNext is a local-first application. Your taste profile, ratings, and watchlist exist only on your device. The Service Provider does not store your data on any server. If you delete the Application without first exporting your data, it cannot be recovered by the Service Provider.
4. Connectivity
Core recommendation and tracking features are fully available offline. An internet connection is only needed to download the initial catalogue on first launch and to receive periodic content updates.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Application, including but not limited to loss of taste profile data, ratings, or watchlist entries. The Application is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
6. Content & Data Accuracy
WhatNext sources its catalogue of films from publicly available open-source databases. While we make reasonable efforts to curate and review this content, we cannot guarantee that all catalogue metadata — including titles, descriptions, genre tags, or content classifications — is complete, accurate, or appropriate for all audiences.
Content ratings and genre tags are assigned through automated processing and may occasionally be inaccurate or inconsistent with official ratings issued by regulatory bodies (such as the MPAA). WhatNext does not endorse or take responsibility for the content of any film listed in the Application.
If you encounter content you believe is inappropriate or incorrectly classified, please contact us at [email protected].
7. Changes to Terms
The Service Provider may update these Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Application following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service Provider operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
